A Food Saver Review
Saturday, December 24th, 2011
Food saver review is helpful if an individual is looking for one to purchase. This article will outline the key benefits of the product to help people get to know what the Food saver is, how it works and why it should be a must-have in each kitchen. Firstly, the objective of this product is to store food and keep it fresh for a longer period of time. You can store foods in a bag that has no air and is sealed by the unit, or use containers that you can purchase as an extra. Foods that can be stored or frozen are fresh meat, cooked foods, snacks or vegetables. Liquids can also be stored. The bags that are used are vacuumed – the unit removes all the air from around the foods in the bag and then seals up when you place the open end of the bag in the slot. When your food is sealed up you are ready to begin reducing your food waste and keeping your food fresh for longer.

Best Material for Kitchen Knives
Tuesday, December 13th, 2011
When one talks about good quality kitchen knives, the issue of what material that was used would usually come up. The most common material would be stainless steel but they are some made from material like ceramic s, carbon steel and others. The best kitchen knives are made from the finest composition and most of the time the price are base on it. Knives that are made from high carbon steel are really sharp but they intend to discolor after some times. Therefore extra efforts are needed to take care of them. Stainless steel knives are more common and much easier to take care. But they are lot less sharp than the previous type. Ceramic knives are known to be more durable and are able to maintain their sharp edge for longer periods; sometime years. Naturally, they are a lot more expensive too. On the other hand, different users have different views on the material itself. So in the end it will be up to the users to choose one that is right for them.

Smaller Than You Would Think
Tuesday, November 8th, 2011
So be real careful cleaning this Breville food processor manually and even taking it out of the gadget. It is fantastic that there is a safety measure in place that won’t allow the processor to start until a plastic piece on the lid snaps into position. It might be a great gift for a college student with a kitchen area. The day it arrived I was so thrilled. My home is a studio apartment, with what must be the tiniest kitchen area ever. I struggled with what size mixer to get for some time, but the four cup size is great for me (takes a couple of onions, a recipe for guacamole, and so on). This is actually the first food processor that I have ever owned. In fact, the very first that I have ever used. We now have used it for orange juice and salads, but it has a lot of uses it is a great addition as a kitchen appliance. It disassembles completely to clean. I want to purchase one with real lever buttons next time or perhaps a better barrier between the liquid and electronics.

Which Grill Should You Get?
Sunday, October 30th, 2011
Barbecue aficionados all get a bit giddy when they see the headlines that there is Weber Grills on Sale since they can get one of the most popular tools of the grilling trade at a discount. Weber tend to be on the expensive side, so any time they are available at a lower price, it is often open season among the local grill masters.
There are choices that need to be made before jumping in though. How big of a grill do you need? Do you want to stick with charcoal, or is it time to move along to propane or natural gas? What is your price range for a grill?
All of these questions are usually answered fairly easily during most parts of the year. However, when the grills go on sale, it is time to put more thought into each question so you can make the best decision and not an impulse action just because the price is right

Dark Colors Are the Best – Soup Kettle
Friday, October 21st, 2011
After a long time, I and my wife decided to throw a party to our friends. A lo of discussions took place in selecting the menu and both our argued a lot and had very little to contribute in the discussions. At last, it was I and my wife who made a sensible menu list. We were expecting about 25 visitors and we thought of cooking by ourselves. On the designated, I and my wife donned our aprons and started to work in the kitchen. Fortunately, all the items were prepared well in advance and we laid the table too in time. Just then, our son came home carrying a big parcel. On opening it, we discovered a huge black soup kettle which could easily serve soup for many people at a time. We poured our already-prepared soup in it and set it to keep warm mode. The kettle was placed at a vantage point and drew the attention of all guests. No doubt, the party was a big success.

Getting Some Coffee
Tuesday, April 19th, 2011
There are a couple of options when it comes to getting coffee. The first is to just go out and buy a cup. Even when buying coffee you have a number of options. You can go to a restaurant and just buy a cup. You can sit down and have them keep refilling your cup until you’re finished and you leave the waitress a nice tip. (Remember 15% is standard but 20% is better.)
You could head over to your fast food restaurant of choice. Walk up to the counter and order a coffee and you’ll have it in just a minute from their machine. And of course nowadays you can go into virtually any gas station in American and grab a cup of coffee. Of course you do so at your own risk depending on the establishment. Some you can expect to be fresh and some is like pouring sludge into a cup because the same pot has been on the burner for 12 hours.
The point is, even though you probably have a preference for one particular establishment, it’s all pretty much the same coffee. You may get it to go, be waited on, or pour it yourself, but it’s all coffee and can’t be called much else. Until, that is, somebody starts marketing “coffeenated slurry” or something that’s really just coffee with a different name.
In addition to these places, you also have specialty coffee shops. There are numerous different ones, but Starbucks is still the most recognized name. These places have coffee but you can’t order it by this name. You have to call it some unpronounceable thing like venti double espresso latte. And then they charge you three times the rate of a regular coffee. Presumably it’s better though. Or at least you tell yourself this because otherwise you just got swindled.
At home you numerous options as well. You can make instant coffee. Basically dump some crystals in a cup and hot the water. Not much else to it than that. Many other people prefer to brew their own coffee. You can make just a cup or if you’re an addict, make an entire pot. Add the sugar and cream to your liking.
Now there is something new in the way of home brewing. Keurig coffees are flavored coffees that you can make at home. More commonly they are referred to as k cups because the coffee comes in a little packet. Currently there are over 200 flavors to choose from and over fifteen manufacturers are producing these now.
If you’re into flavored coffee, you should give K cups a try. For less than the price you’d pay for a cup of coffee at a restaurant or store, you can make your own favorite K cup flavor. And you can save even more money by shopping online. Just search for discount k cups and you’ll find great deals on them.

You Get a Three Year Warranty on the Cuisinart Griddler
Saturday, December 25th, 2010
A big issue with many small kitchen appliances is the short term warranties you often find. Most come with a 90 day or one year warranty at the most, but this is not the case with the Cusinart Griddler. They include a three year limited warranty on this nice little appliance.
Cuisinart states that they warrant that your grill will operate as normal during this three year term, and if for some reason it does not, they will either repair or replace it entirely. The best way to verify your purchase date is to fill out the warranty or registration card that comes inside the box when you buy the grill.
Not only will this help with purchase date info, but it also makes it possible to be mailed notices in the event of a recall or some other problem. No, there most likely will never be a problem, but I like knowing that I will be contacted in the even something were to arise, instead of maybe missing out on a potential problem.

Where to Buy the Ken Onion Shun Knives?
Thursday, December 16th, 2010
I am trying to track down the best place to get a ken onion shun ahead of the Christmas rush. If you did not already know, these knives are almost revolutionary in terms of ergonomics, not to mention how insanely sharp they are, and well built, and functional, and rust resistant…and everything else! The only thing going against these knives is – as you might imagine from a Shun knife – the price tag. We are not talking a few tens of dollars here!
If you wanted to get the eight inch ken onion shun chef’s knife you can expect to pay around two hundred dollars – and that’s with the generous discount that Amazon applies to the recommended retail price – which of course not everyone can afford to match! Given that, however, these knives are so fantastically brilliant they will quite possibly last you for the rest of your life and then some; the blades are so sharp that you really do need to be very careful with them!

Quinoa a Health Friendly Food!
Monday, November 15th, 2010
Another of the breakfast favorites, quinoa offers a nutritious meal to set your day’s mood. It’s a delicacy native in South America and was rediscovered lately for us to love. As a healthy food, it has gained a veritable popularity around the world. Quinoa is known to be a great source of high quality protein, fiber and complex carbohydrates. It possesses health benefits hard to equal or overrun. While some meals may contain these nutrients, they’re not as complete as quinoa. As compared with other plants, this delicacy has all the nine essential amino acids in it. They are treated like a grain in cooking and can also be spread over every meal for those looking to improve their diet.
Anyone can try cooking quinoa and probably you too would like to learn how to cook quinoa. There are many ways to cook quinoa but the easiest method is to cook them over the stove. But first, you should never forget to properly cleanse and drain the quinoa. Quinoa is covered with saponin – a waxy substance that coats it. If not removed it can result to a soapy mix or worst can upset your stomach. To remove the saponin, you need to place the quinoa on a strainer and let warm water run over it for several minutes. Once the water is clear you’re sure that it is saponin-free and ready to be cooked. There are some quinoas available by bulks, this need to be soaked for about two hours before cooking.
Once your quinoa is ready, you place it on a pot. Ideally one cup of quinoa needs two cups of water. By the way you can substitute water with broth or juice according to your taste. Just place them over the stove and let it simmer. Allow the quinoa to absorb the liquid for about fifteen minutes. Then your own quinoa is ready.

A Tefal Fat Fryer, Really Can Turn Your Day Around
Tuesday, October 26th, 2010
I am one of those people who think a tefal fat fryer can really turn your life around and believe me it really can. I really think you can change your day by getting one of these amazing machines. I told my friends this very thing and they laughed at me and made fun of me. One of my friends was very quiet during this exchange and I didn’t realise why until later I found out he had actually went out and bought a deep fat fryer from Tefal and absolutely loved it and couldn’t get enough of frying his chips in these amazing machines. I don’t want you to dismiss what I am saying as nonsense, as I am probably appearing to have some sort of incentive to promote these products. You would be right I do have an affiliate site but I really do believe in this product.

Making a Risotto with Cooked Snow Crabs
Tuesday, October 19th, 2010
If you and your family love the delicious, fresh from the sea taste of Snow Crabs Legs then why not ring the changes with my tasty leftover Snow Crabs Risotto.
Don’t worry if you have never made risotto before, contrary to what some chefs would have you believe, anyone can do it.
Start by preparing all your ingredients. You will need risotto rice, which absorbs more liquids than long grain rice for a softer stickier texture, paella rice can also be used successfully. Make up a lightly flavoured fish stock with a splash of wine if desired. Remove the meat from the Snow Crabs legs and slice as required.
In a non stick pan, cook the rice with melted butter frying slowly to prevent it colouring or burning.
After about 15 minutes start adding the stock, a ladle full at a time. As you add the stock keep stirring to release the creamy starches that give this dish its sticky texture. When the liquid is all absorbed and the rice full cooked, simply stir in the Snow Crabs meat and serve!
